How to update apps on Android

Installing and updating applications on Android is usually a straightforward task, but the process may vary depending on the app store you use and the manufacturer of your Android device. In this guide, we will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to Update Apps on Android. How to update apps on Android

Although Android comes equipped with a good selection of applications by default, it is inevitable to install new apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Spotify, or Netflix. So you can do what you want with your mobile phone.

Also, the creators of Android applications release updates that bring new features, visual changes, and overall improvements. Therefore, it’s a good idea to update your apps regularly to take advantage of these updates.

Updating applications on Android is very easy. But there are several ways to carry out these updates. It will depend on which app store you use, whether the app is not in any store, and the manufacturer of your Android mobile phone.

How to update applications from Google Play:

The official Android app store is Google Play. When you visit the app store, you will have access to a Large catalog of applications and games. You can easily install them on your phone with just the push of a button. The process is the same for updates as well.

To Update Apps from Google Play:

  • Open the Google Play or Google Play Store app.
  • Tap the profile icon.
  • Tap Manage apps and device.
  • If updates are available, you’ll see the Updates Available label.
  • Tap on Update or Update all.

How To Automatically Update Apps on Android:

On Android, another possibility is to automatically update all applications. This way, you can forget about the periodic task of manually updating your apps, and the app store will take care of it for you.

To activate automatic updates from Google Play:

  • Open the Google Play or Google Play Store app.
  • Tap the profile icon.
  • Go to Settings > Network preferences > Automatically update apps.
  • Try to choose the Wi-Fi Only option to avoid running out of mobile data.

Keep in mind that apps consume data while downloading. If your mobile data plan is limited, it is better to use a Wi-Fi connection for this task instead of sacrificing your mobile data plan.

Finally, you may want to automatically update only some specific applications and leave the manual update for the rest. You can do so by following these steps:

  1. Open the Google Play or Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Manage apps and device.
  4. Go to Manage and find the application you want to update automatically.
  5. Touch the application to enter Details.
  6. Inside Details, tap on the More menu.
  7. Activate the Automatically update option.
  8. Repeat this process for each app you want.

How to Manually Update Apps via APK:

Not all apps and games are available on Google Play. Sometimes, there is no other choice but to go directly to the APK of that app. That is, to its installer. Some authors provide the APK on their official pages. And this is what happens if you download Malavida applications.

Updating apps via APK requires the same steps as installing that APK. Simply, instead of asking you if you want to install the application, it will ask you if you want to update it. Also, if you use APKs, you can not only update but also downgrade, that is, go back to an old version of an application. The process is the following:

  1. Download the APK from the browser.
  2. Accept the download when the warning message appears.
  3. Open the APK once downloaded.
  4. Accept the update.
  5. When it’s done, you’ll see a message inviting you to open the app or close that message.
